Workshop on Cradle to Crayons and Beyond

Department of Pediatrics, PIMS organized a workshop ‘Cradle to Crayons and Beyond’ under the aegis of IAP, adolescent health chapter on 27-May-2017. Around 50 pediatricians from in and around Jalandhar attended the workshop. Participants were educated regarding neurological examination of newborns and infants which is challenging aspect for every Pediatrician. Session included discussions on developmentally supportive care in NICU aimed at providing care to the babies similar to in-utero environment. The nuances of Autism were also discussed followed by discussion on identification and follow-up of high risk babies to minimize morbidities and complications. Subsequently, a hands-on session was conducted on tone assessment and use of screening tools. The recipients of the workshop were both PIMS faculty and private practitioners of the city.
