In India about 12 lakh people die in a year because of smoking. Smoking kills approximately half of its users. Looking at the severity of the problem in collaboration with Fortis Foundation which works for the welfare of the society across India, PIMS has started Smoking Cessation Clinic. Smoking cessation clinic is a dedicated clinic to examine and treat patients who willfully want to quit smoking. The clinic was inaugurated on 8-June-2017 and operates on weekly basis i.e. every Thursday between 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The services of this clinic are free of cost for the first six months including the medicines, breath test, consultation and psychotherapy. Each patient who is enrolled with the clinic is provided with minimum of three weeks of treatment.
