Dr. Kanwaljit Singh is the Executive Chairman of Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar. He is an experienced healthcare professional with over a decade of leadership experience in hospital administration and medical education across diverse healthcare systems, including government, corporate, and public–private partnership models. He holds an MBBS degree and an MD in Community Health and Preventive Medicine. At PIMS, Dr. Singh provides strategic and institutional leadership, focusing on strengthening academic governance, hospital operations, and organizational systems. His work emphasizes sustainable growth, quality medical education, and the development of integrated healthcare services aligned with the institution’s long-term vision.

More than a decade ago, the foundation of the first medical teaching hospital in the Doaba region was laid under the name Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), with the vision of strengthening the roots of healthcare in the region.
