Ashray Clinic – Home to Health

Ashray clinic is an initiative taken up by the Department of Community Medicine, PIMS, Jalandhar in collaboration of Fortis Foundation to fight malnutrition among children. The beneficiaries include children below 5 years and pregnant/ lactating women. The main objective of the clinic is to improve nutritional and health status of children and to lay the foundation of proper physical, social and psychological development. It will act as an abode for nutrition, early learning and health. The services for the children include: vaccination, growth monitoring, play space, supplementary nutrition and a joyful early learning environment. Services to the mothers include: regular ante and post-natal check-ups, iron & folic acid supplementation, immunizations and education regarding breast feeding, complementary feeding and other areas related to nutrition.
