The Department of Pediatrics, The Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar organized CME on “Neonatal Pulse” on 22nd of August 2015 where distinguishing speakers were invited to share the best in the field of Neonatal – Perinatal medicine. The session embarked with welcome address and inauguration by Resident Director, PIMS followed by insights on ‘New born screening/IEM’ shared collectively by Dr. Manjit Kaur (Genetics) and Dr. Lal Path Lab which was then tuned with the “Recent Updates on BPD” delivered by Dr. Deepak Chawla, DM Neonatology ,GMCH, Chandigarh. After a short tea break, Dr. Sushma Nangia, DM Neonatology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi exchanged her views on ‘Delayed Cord Clamping in Preterm Baby’. Thereafter, the session was taken over by Dr. Ramesh Aggarwal, DM Neonatology, AIIMS, New Delhi who enlightened the audience with ‘Good Practices associated with Better Neuro Development in Neonates’. The significance of ‘CPAP in Preterm Babies ‘ was demonstrated through a presentation by Dr. Jatinder Singh MD, Fellow Neonatology, PIMS, Jalandhar. The session came to an end with a brief on ‘Advanced Ventilation’ by Dr. Kamal Arora, DM Neonatology, D.M.C.H, Ludhiana. To stimulate the academic nerve, poster presentations were also done by PG students.
